A Rite of Passage for Young Men
First Rites: Young Men Rising is a three-day camping experience to guide boys through the essential and sacred transition from boyhood to adolescence. Grounded in the tradition of rites of passage and rooted in the belief that every young man deserves intentional moments of reflection, challenge, and belonging, this experience invites boys to step more fully into who they are becoming.
In a culture that often leaves boys to find their way alone, First Rites offers a different path—one supported by trained mentors, nature, and a community of peers. Through games, council circles, nature-based challenges, and meaningful rituals, young men are invited to engage in their own growth with courage and honesty.
Together, we’ll explore what it means to live with purpose, connect with others authentically, and rise into the next stage of life with clarity and confidence.
What to Expect
Outdoor Camping: Boys will sleep outside and share daily responsibilities in teams.
Experiential Learning: We use games, reflection, and hands-on challenges to spark growth and insight.
Council Circles: Through guided group conversations, boys are invited to listen, speak from the heart, and build trust.
Mentorship: A supportive team of experienced men—many of them fathers and grandfathers—creates a safe, encouraging space for each boy.
Ritual & Ceremony: We’ll mark the transition into adolescence with powerful, age-appropriate rituals that invite meaning and personal insight.
This is not a religious retreat; no particular faith tradition is promoted. We deeply respect each participant’s unique background and family values.
